Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR), is a remote sensing method that uses light in the form of a sweeping laser to measure ranges (variable distances) to the Earth. These light pulses generate precise, three-dimensional information about shape and surface characteristics. CCS’s LiDAR enabled mobile mapping system offers high density, high precision, point clouds combined with high resolution panoramas from a system that is smaller, lighter and easier to handle. Utilizing point cloud data gathered from the field, CCS combines imagery and point cloud, extract points, lines, areas, profiles and volumes. From there they can feature extraction within GIS layers all within Sub-Decimeter geo-located accuracy. That’s CCS LiDAR!
